PERSONAL BIOGRAPHY

Evan grew up in Hawaii and found a love for the cement waves of the skate park at a young age. Just 10 days before his 18th birthday, he was riding a motorcycle when he was struck by a drunk driver, leading to the partial amputation of his left leg.

Evan moved to Lake Tahoe in 2007 to learn how to snowboard. Since then, he has earned every title in the sport of para snowboarding, and in 2014 became the first man to win a Paralympic gold medal in snowboarding.

Evan remains a very active mentor of youth and adult amputees in partnership with Adaptive Action Sports (AAS).
