Kate Douglass

Five-time Olympic medalist and multiple world record-holder

Kate Douglass has been described as one of the most dominant and versatile athletes in the sport of swimming. She is a 28-time All-American, 15-time NCAA Champion and five-time Olympic medalist.

 

In 2023, Kate won two Golden Goggles awards — one for Female Athlete of the Year and one for Relay of the Year for her performance at the World Championships. She also was a finalist for the Sullivan Award, which recognizes the best college athletes in the country in their sport.

PERSONAL BIOGRAPHY

Kate competed for the University of Virginia, and is considered one of the greatest swimmers in NCAA history, winning 15 gold medals and three team championships in four years. She is a versatile swimmer, earning Olympic medals in the 200m breaststroke, 4 x 100m medley relay, 200m individual medley and 4 x 100m freestyle relay events.

While at UVA, Kate earned a Bachelor’s in statistics, and hopes she can share her passion for STEM with kids by making the concepts fun, accessible and tied to sports.

Kate was born and raised in Pelham, NY, and currently resides in Charlottesville, VA.
