Janet Evans is a legendary American swimmer and one of the most accomplished athletes in the history of the sport. Over her illustrious career, she broke seven world records, some of which stood for decades, cementing her legacy as one of the greatest distance swimmers of all time.

PROFESSIONAL BIOGRAPHY

Janet began swimming at a young age and quickly gained recognition for her endurance and unorthodox “windmill” freestyle stroke. She made her Olympic debut at the 1988 Seoul Games, where she won three gold medals in the 400-meter freestyle, 800-meter freestyle, and 400-meter individual medley, setting world records in the process. Janet continued her dominance in the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, capturing another gold in the 800-meter freestyle and a silver in the 400-meter freestyle.
